Tubing down the Virgin River is one of the most refreshing ways to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Utah desert, but there is so much more to explore besides tubing in Zion National Park. Whether you are an adrenaline seeker, a foodie, an outdoor enthusiast or enjoy it all, here are the top seven fun things to do in Zion National Park beyond tubing.

1. Stargazing in Zion
Zion National Park has some of the clearest skies in the entire country and it is the perfect location for stargazing enthusiasts offering an epic evening activity in Zion. If you are interested in a professional stargazing tour, book a tour with Stargazing Zion to enjoy the constellations and the milky way. This is the perfect activity to enjoy the cooler temperatures in the evening and have an educational experience learning all about the stars from the incredibly knowledgeable astronomers on their stargazing tours.
2. Original Zion Jeep Tours
If you are looking to get off-the-beaten-track in Zion a bit and enjoy some back roads, book a tour with the original Zion Jeep Tours. These tours offer a more thrilling adventure near Zion National Park to explore the red rocks, cliffs, and valleys around the area. Enjoy wildlife sightings, geology and hear stories from the guides about the history of the area. If you are looking for a family-friendly activity off the park grounds, this is one of the most fun things to do in Zion for exploring a lesser known area.
3. Hike Angels Landing
For the adrenaline-seeker visiting Southern Utah, hiking Angels Landing is a bucket-list adventure that must be conquered! This hike is known for dramatic views and scary sections of the trail that scale cliffs with chain-assisted climbs. This trail is not for people who are afraid of heights and is not recommended to go on with children. If you are up for the rush and the challenge, this hike is worth the views of the canyon and the overall accomplishment of taking on such a daunting activity. Book a permit ahead of time, since this popular trail requires reservations.

4. Ride Zion: E-Bike Tours
At Zion Tubing, our favorite way to explore the canyon around Zion National Park is on an e-bike through a tour with Ride Zion. Enjoy an exhilarating three-hour ride during golden hour up Pa’Rus trail and Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. Using e-bikes gives you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the leisurely ride or use pedal-assist to still get in a solid workout. This is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of Zion while avoiding traffic and finding hidden gems in the park that you may not have come across in a car.
5. Explore the Town of Springdale
The charming town at the entrance of Zion National Park is Springdale, Utah. It’s full of delicious places to eat, cute shops and outdoor recreation outfitters to set you up for a day of adventure in the park. Exploring Springdale is worth your time and an excellent place to stay in a hotel or Airbnb if you’re not staying at one of the many campgrounds or RV parks. Our favorite places in Springdale are Deep Creek Coffee, known for its locally roasted beans and the absolute best coffee in town! Our favorite place to buy locally made gifts and crafts is Zion Made and the best brewery in Zion is without a doubt, Zion Canyon Brew Pub. Springdale is the perfect little town to relax and go shopping when you’re taking a break from your outdoor activities in the national park.
6. Fun Things to Do in Zion: The Narrows
Another fun thing to do in Zion for adventure seekers is hiking the Zion Narrows for a surreal experience of navigating the river through a slot canyon. Depending on which route you take, you may need a permit, but hiking from the bottom up, near the Riverside walk, you won’t need a permit. Pay attention to the weather and avoid going in the narrows if rain is in the forecast to avoid the risk of flash floods. In order to hike the Narrows in Zion, you will need to be prepared with some specific gear. Head to Zion Guru in town ahead of time to rent neoprene socks, water boots and a sturdy walking stick which will keep you comfortable and warm as you wade through the river.

7. Wine Tasting at Water Canyon Winery
The best winery near Zion, Water Canyon Winery, is a short drive from Springdale and is known for their natural wine production with no additives or preservatives. This boutique winery in Hilldale, Utah offers wine tasting and winery tours with an ecliptic mix of desert scenery and the vineyard in the backdrop. With a variety of both reds and whites, this organic wine is uniquely handcrafted with fruit-forward flavors and is the perfect side trip from Zion for a relaxing afternoon.
